Oops!

OK, I know I said I wasn't going to order anymore yarn but Sheri just added more sock yarn to her site and I couldn't resist the Scarlet Fleece in the Raspberry & Kiwi colorway. Hey at least I stopped at one hank....lol. I'll blame this purchase on lack of sleep. I should not be allowed anywhere near a yarn shop website when I've had less then say 6 hours of sleep. : )
I think I will just conveniently forget to mention this slip to Shawn....lol. He'll never notice another skein of yarn.

Tulip Skirt Update

I decided to use the pink camo yarn made by Bernat to make a skirt for Kaity. The pattern I'm using is in the March 2007 Creative Magazine. It's called Tulip Skirt. It's been really easy to work up so far. I figured I'd give it a try with this yarn since there isn't enough there to make a sweater. If I like this pattern and it works for Kaity I'll be making more. I'm off to go work up my Colorful Wristers which are also in this months issue of Creative Knitting. I'll post pics of the wristers when I have a good amount OTN.

Knitting All Night

I got my wish for having more time for knitting. Of course to get that wish I ended up with a sick kid. Kaity finally decided to get sick today. I say finally because she's been off and not acting quite like herself since Friday morning. She got sick to her tummy this afternoon so I'll be up with her for the rest of the night. Tomorrow's going to be a long day and I'm praying that poor Bree doesn't catch what Kaity has. Hopefully Shawn can get off work a few hours early so I can catch a wee nap. Oh well, I'm just going to make the best of a bad situation, hence the knitting all night title. I'm sure I'll start a few different projects over the next few hours. : )

Bree's Socks

Here's the pics of Bree's socks. I think they came out so cute. She seems to be very fascinated with them....lol. Last night was her fussy night so I only managed to get her socks finished. It seems like about once a week or so Bree has a bad night and I have a hard time getting her to go to sleep. Last night she didn't go to bed till 11:30pm so that didn't leave a whole lotta knitting time. I finished her socks but I didn't have my two handed swift here to help me get my hank wound into a ball. My swift was across the street babysitting hyper girls, one which is mine....lol. Kaity finally started feeling better so I sent her across the street to play. One of these days I need to break down a buy a nice one. Anyone have any suggestions on swifts that would be good to purchase? I'd love to here everyones opinions on swifts.

Box Delivery

Thank you Mr. Mailman for bringing me boxes today. My mom sent me a box with some knitting books in it. I'll be browsing those later.
Box number two was my box from The Loopy Ewe. Man, Sheri ships things out fast. I ordered this stuff Wed and I've already got the box. Of course as always Sheri popped in a few little extra goodies for me to enjoy. I also got my first mini sock blocker.....it's perfect for Kaity's socks. : )

Here's the stitch markers that I got. I thought they were just tooooo cute to pass up. They are Loopy, Louise, and Black Bart.....like I said they are cute. I can't wait to throw these on my needles. Now I need to get something started.....lol.

Finally here is the yarn that I got. This yarn is gorgeous and the pic just doesn't do it justice, which is normally how it seems to go when you are trying to take pics of yarn. I ended up using Kaity's bed to get the best pics. She has shear curtains and mini blinds so the lighting in her room is perfect for natural light pics. I haven't decided what I'm going to use the Schaefer Anne for. It has a yardage of like 540 so I can us it for any pattern I want. I'm going to have some left over from this yarn....lol. Hell I could probably make me some wicked knee socks out of that yarn.....course I don't wear knee socks. : ) I'm thinking maybe for a set of sock with the Monkey pattern from Knitty. I'll have to think more on that one. The Cherry Tree Hill is for my Martha socks and I just fell in love with the color....even though it isn't the bright flashy colors I normally lean towards. I got the Parallel sock pattern from Wildhorse Farms to work up the CTH. I'll probably start that on up tonight.....YIPPY!!! A New Pair Of Socks For Trish!!!!

On a bad note poor Kaity isn't feeling all that well so she is laying on the couch instead of playing at her friends house today. She was suppose to have a sleepover tonight but it doesn't look like it's going to happen now. We'll have to see how she's feeling after her nap.

Socks for Bree

Here's last nights sock knitting content. Aren't they so cute. I was too lazy to get up to take pictures and post on the blog so here I am posting today....lol. I finally got a sock OTN for Bree. I'm using the leftover yarn from Kaity's Lorna's Lace Rainbow socks. I'm using size US 2 needles and the Fraternal Twins Socks pattern. I'm using the Meg stitch pattern. I don't think I'll graft the toes on these socks. It decreases down to 8 total stitches so I think I will just thread the yarn through the stitches and pull it tight. I'll post a pic of them on Bree's feet after I get them finished. I'll probably finish them up tonight while she's sleeping so I can get a pic of them on here tomorrow some time.

Yippy, Their Done!!!

I finished up my sisters socks this afternoon. Last night I managed to get them to the toe decrease and decided to put them away for the night because I was suppose to go to Costco's today and figured I could finish them up in the car. Well I ended up not going.....Shawn got to do all the shopping and I stayed home with the kids, which didn't bother me a bit.
So here they are and now I can move on to another project. These socks went out for a breath of fresh air to be photographed in natural light. For once I actually finished something in the middle of the day on a day where the sun was out and shinning. I have no idea what type of bush the socks are sitting on is, but I do know they harbor spiders like you wouldn't believe in the summer time.....Yuck! Always freaks me out when they go running across my floor. I doesn't happen to often but hate it when they do.
I think tonight I'll work on some socks for Bree with the leftover Lorna's Lace Rainbow from Kaity's last pair of socks. I'm waiting for my Loopy Ewe order to come in before I cast on a pair for myself.
For these socks I used 5 DPN's size US 1, CO 72 sts using a top down pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks and the Waffle Rib pattern, located on page 34-38. These socks were done up for a foot circumference of 8.5 inches and a foot length of about 9.5 inches. The cuff is about 5-6 inches (don't have my notes near me to say for sure). I still have enough yarn left over to make a pair of socks for Bree....of course she's only 6 months old so her feet aren't all that big. : )
