New Member of the Family

I'd like you to meet Bob, the newest member of our family. Bob is better then our previous bike which remains to this day unnamed. Bob has preprogrammed exercise programs that raise and lower the tension to give you a good workout like when you ride a real bike outside. Shawn and I had a little money to splurge this year and being responsible adults we used it to buy an exercise bike which will help benefit our health.....I still have about 50 lbs to go to get down to the 150 lbs which would be my health weight. Me, I really wanted to add the money to my yarn fund but I'm being a Big Girl about it....lol. I'll reward myself with lots of yarn and goodies as I lose weight. I was cracking up the other day when I read someones post about buying one pound of yarn for every pound lost.....talk about some incentive. 50 lbs of yarn is a lot of friggin' yarn.....yippy! I wished I could remember who was posting about it.....I think I read it in one of the Yahoo Groups I'm in. Alas, I don't think my poor bank account could handle that incentive so I have to think smaller. Plus where in the world would I put that yarn? I am rewarding myself with something good for every 10 lbs lost and there will be a great big reward when I hit 150 lbs. I've lost 5 lbs so far, 5 lbs to go and I'm going to get a set of Celtic Swan needles.

Household Feet

OK, I've already told you all that I'm a joiner, which meant I had to go along with this one. So when I seen this post out at RC's site I had to go check it out. It seems that JenLa is having a little contest. You can read more about it here. So here's the cutie feet in my household. When I say cutie feet I'm talking about little feet. Shawn and my feet are camera shy and refused to be photographed. No feet were harmed in the making of these photos but do have to throw in a disclaimer **Taking pictures of baby feet is damn near impossible since the squirm a lot or at least mine does. Bree wiggles like she has ants in her diaper, worse then Jello.....took me like 25 shots before I got a good one....lol.**

Kaity's Second Snowman

Here's the second snowman, in all it's glory. This one ended up being a wee bit bigger then the one back in December. It continued to snow pretty much all day long and off and on through out the night. It's clear and sunny today so there's really no telling how long the snow will last. I actually had to shovel snow off the steps and put some ice melt down this morning before I dared to head out to the mailbox. :-)
I got some more pattern books and booklets in the mail today. I got the booklet that has Maren in it. I'm not sure if I can wait to make this one...lol. I have to to make my Central Park Hoodie and then I think I will try the Dollar and a Half Cardigan out of the Spring 07 Interweave Knits mag.

I'm A Joiner

Some of you are Knitting from Your Stash this year. I'll be Expanding my stash. I've got the button to prove it....lol. The requirements is to buy yarn whenever I want, to build up a stash so that one day I will be able to be a part of Knitting from Your Stash....lol. I'm going to work on my collection.

MagKnits

I just got an email from MagKnits saying that the newest newsletter is out. So I head on over there, being the curious person that I am, and find this girls t-shirt. So it's now on my list to make...lol. I guess I'll start looking for some yarn. :-) Oh darn, another reason to go buy yarn....lol. I'll be posting some pics of Kaity's snowman later.....Yup she got to make one. She was super happy that the snow picked back up. It's not a big snowman but it is a little bigger then the last one.

Yarn, Magazines, & Snow

Still snowing though it has slowed down. I'm still hoping for enough to make a snowman. I don't know if it's going to happen though.
Got some more yarn in, Knit Picks Dancing in colors that have long been discontinued. I got it to make socks for the girls and picked it up off of the Destash blog. The link is in my blogroll for those who may be interested.
I also received my first Interweave Knits magazine, Spring 2007 edition. It didn't disappointed. There are several things I want to make and will have to add them to my Project Waiting list. I like the Entrelac sock by Eunny Jang. I love the Dollar and a Half Cardigan. I also like the the Green Tea Raglan, the Ruffled Surplice (on front cover), the Slanted Neck Pullover, Merry Maidens Dress, Roza's Socks by Grumperina, and the baby blue socks done by staff member Ann Budd. I'm not sure about knitting my own bra though.....lol. I'll have to ponder over that one, though it is cute. :-) There's some other really nice things but I'd never wear them. If I find some one to knit them for that would wear them then I'm all for it. You can go here to see a list of the projects and bonus photos in the magazine if you don't have it. It's worth the $7 cover price for me, though since I have a subscription I get the magazines for about $5 a piece. Can't wait to see what they come up with for the Summer edition.

Snow Again

I'll be damn it's snowing again. This time it's really starting to come down. Everyone cross your fingers for Kaity. Maybe she'll get the wish for a chance to make another snowman. The pic doesn't show it very well.....yup I'll admit it, I'm not a professional photographer.....but the snow falling is good size flakes.
Well I'm off to go finish up my morning chores and wait patiently for the mailman to show up with the mail and for Shawn to show up with my Milky Way coffee....Yummmy!
