Loss of a Dear Friend

Today we had to put our beloved Cocker Spaniel to sleep. She had liver cancer (which we didn't know about) that had spread to all but a very small portion of her liver. We didn't want her to suffer in pain.

We had her in our lives for almost 12 years. She will be missed greatly by everyone of us in the family. Rest in peace our beloved furry protector.

  1. The poor girl. I'll be thinking about you all. It's such a hard decision to make for someone you love so much.

  2. I'm so sorry. It's hard but you made the best decision for her so that she wouldn't suffer, something that we can't do for people that we love. You'll be in my thoughts.

  3. I can feel your sorrow - and from the perspective of having been there many times before, the pain does go away - leaving the most fantastic memories of love and devotion. You did the right thing by allowing her the dignity she deserves. Our faithful furkids can't tell us what's right for the situation. We can only do the best we can... if that means lovingly letting them go ahead, so be it. (((((hugs)))))

  5. Gosh, she looks so much like my Baxter whom I had to put to sleep a few years ago. I am sorry for you loss - but grateful for the humanity you chose for her!
