It's Monday Again?

Most people hate Monday's, not me.....it's just another day.  :~)
My job is 24/7 so I don't get the weekends off to be able to dread Mondays...lol.

Gotta have a pic:

I got an email saying the Spring 07 Knitty is out so of course I had to jump on over and check that out.  I get over there and what do my wondering I see "This".....which Kaity is soooooo in love with.  I've already been asked if I'll make it for her.  Damn I need to build up a good stash for times like these.  OK, no sock yarn.....must have other types of yarn....lol!
There's also a few sock patterns that are cute.....I'm not linking them, if you haven't already gone to Knitty.com....Go!  There are a few things I would definitely love to make.  So many things to make, not enough time and money to make them.  :~)  I'm still looking for the ever elusive tank top pattern for my kinda shirt picky sister.  I want to make her a cute tank, she wears them year round.  She hates sleeves and it can't come up around her neck.....told you she was picky.....lol.  I will find it though, just give me a little time.  :~)

Not much going on today.  I'm attacking Laundry Mountain today and weeding through more junk.  :~)   Fun Fun!

Been Knitting...Kinda!

I've been knitting, sorta, kinda, a little bit.

Here's what I did:

Dscn0784

It's a dish rag.  Boy aren't I the daring innovated knitter!  I need to get the second baby hat started for the Loopy Ewe Q2 challenge.  I have one done but I really wanted to make a second one.  There's enough sock yarn for a second so a second one I will knit.  :~)   I wanted to make some fingerless mitts but it doesn't appear as if I will have the time.  I'd like to get the box out to Sheri by next payday.
Sorry the blog has been a little on the boring side here lately.  I have a box of spinning stuff I want to play with, several wonderful knitting projects already started and more that I want to start, but I feeling guilty when I stop working on cleaning up the house and I can't enjoy any of my projects.   I know I need a break from time to time but I feel like I shouldn't be taking them at all.  I'm going to be seriously nutty by the time we get to Montana.

On a non-knitting note I want to ask you all for a little fav.  Could you please keep my cousins hubby Andy in your prayers and thoughts?  He was in a accident and suffered some very bad head trauma.

A Brief Interlude

Just a quick break to say "Shredding Sucks!!!!"

My break is due to the shredder needing a rest.  :~)
Oh how I miss work in times like these.  Our classified shredder....the shredder we used to shred classified documents....was on of those big industrial, super, mega shredders.  You know the ones I'm talking about, they'll shred like 50 sheets of paper at a time, CDs, credit cards and anything else you throw it's way.  I use to go in with 6 months worth of stuff to shred and be done in a few minutes.  Course that's about the only thing I miss about not working.

It has come to my attention that we are moving in less then 60 days.  That's less then two months people.  I feel like there is still tons to do and not enough time to get it all done.  ***sigh***

Monkey Sunrise #1

I finished up the first Monkey Sunrise sock.

Dsc03068

I only needed to put one more repeat on the foot and knit the toe so it went fairly quickly.  This sock took about 7 days to knit, though there were 4 of those 7 days I didn't touch the sock at all.  So I guess you could say it took about 3 days to knit.  This pattern works up sooooooo fast.  :~)

I like how the toe kinda pooled....it mostly purple on the bottom and yellow on the top.  I'll cast on the second sock tomorrow.  I never seem to have a problem with second sock syndrome.

Now it's off to catch some sleep.  Must have sleep for a busy day of shredding old papers and doing a few loads of laundry.....talk about energy taxing work.  :~)

Wonderful Goodies

I got some great goodies in the mail today.  It's enough to bright my day.  You know what, 29 doesn't feel any different then 28....lol.  Yup you guessed it, today is my b-day.

Goodies all wrapped and pretty:

I won this yarn from a guessing contest on Jennie's blog.  I guessed 7 out of 10 sock yarn types correctly.....who has a sock yarn problem, oh no not me!   :~)   I picked Fleece Artist for my winnings.  Jennie sent the Trekking 100 because the last contest I won on her blog she sent me Trekking 110 instead of the 100.  Which was no biggie to me!     :~)  Thanks Jennie, that was sooo cool of you to send me the Trekking 100.  It will be put to good use.

I also got the June 2007 copy of Knit N' Style.  I decided to try it so they sent me a free issue and then I can subscribe if I want too....I think I'll subscribe.  There are a few patterns I could use.  There is Mary's Camisole that I think my sis would like....pg. 37 for you all who have the mag.  I like the pullover (it's the blue pullover on the site) on pg. 39, the pocket baby cardi/pullover on pg 58, and a super cute dress called viva la violet for little girls on pg. 60.  So all in all I'd say the mag was worth the purchase price, which of course is cheaper if you have a subscription.  :~)

Last Nights Knitting

Just a quick post to show you all what I worked on last night.

First up, the baby washrag:

Dscn0715

The washrag is just a plain stockinette stitch with a seed stitch border.  Does anyone think this is too girly for a baby boy's washrag?  I asked Shawn last night if he thought it was too girly and he told me "It's just a washrag that's going to clean up a dirty baby butt!"....I had to laugh at that.  He does have a point.  :~)

Then I started a grandma's favorite dishcloth.

Dscn0713

I'm using Peaches & Creme, color 175 Fiesta Ombre.  I love this color.  I may use this one to make some place mats for the kitchen table.

Is it just me or do most guys like plain sober colors.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just seems that the guys go for muted colors.  For example, I've been looking at yarns to make Shawn a sweater....he really wants a sweater, I have the pattern, so now I just need to get the yarn to make said sweater.  Shawn wants gray, black, dark blue, darker browns...see where I'm going with the colors.  :~)  So this has got me thinking about favorite colors.  Me I don't really have a favorite color, I kinda love all colors when they are used right.....with the exception of that bright florescent hunter orange.....Uggggg I haven't seen anything that looks good in or with that color.

So my questions for you all is: "What's your favorite color/colors?"  "Are there any colors that you just can't stand?"  Gotta love the curiosity in me....though it has got me into trouble a few times.   :~)
